The hero gives uninspiring talks with beats in the background score rising to make the army automatically charged up to start fighting and die... its very nonsensical just like Themistokles saying " Today is the day we water the plants" and with rising music the army responds hu rahhh and they get into the battle. Zack Snyder after delivering the man of steel just seems to have treated this franchise as a step son by doing the screenplay but giving away the direction at Murro's hands who just couldn't pull it off. The casting of suvillian stapleton as a lead actor who clearly fumbles in dialogue delivery and acting was the biggest stupidity. The only silver lining was Eva Green and she delivered right on the money as expected with lena heady who just has a few scenes. guess people will just have to watch this part hoping something better will come in the third. Drawing from an unpublished sequel to 300, 300 Rise of an Empire the title is meaningless is a follow up to the first film where the Spartans have died. Now the other Greek city states must unite against the invading Persians and their allies. Eva Green was beautiful and she performed a role that is totally outcasted perfectly. Sullivan Stapleton had a good performance but his figure really didn't suit the role of Themistocles. Aside from the unnecessary gore and sex, it was quite entertaining. The story is not as straight forward and the visuals not quite as unique and striking, but still pretty impressive. The action is top notch, though and while some dialogs are just as shallow in their "die for honor" pathos the result is overall really entertaining. The end comes a little suddenly, while I would have been okay with following those battles a little longer. Still, pretty decent.
